The short answer

Where can I buy a GOLS-certified organic latex mattress topper in the UK?

Right here, today. The Organic Topper is a solid core of GOLS-certified organic Dunlop latex inside a zipped GOTS-certified organic cotton cover. It comes in all four UK sizes, two feels (Plush, which is medium soft, and Supportive, which is medium firm) and 1, 2 or 3 inch depths.

One thing we would rather say up front: the materials are certified, the finished topper is not, because our cover maker and UK finishing partner are not yet certified sites, and our own certification is in progress. That is why you will never see a GOLS logo on our label. Here is the detail.

What "certified organic" should mean on a topper

Two standards matter for a latex topper, one for the latex and one for the fabric around it.

  • GOLS, the Global Organic Latex Standard, was developed by Control Union. Latex sold as GOLS organic has to come from certified organic rubber plantations and be processed at GOLS-certified sites. It covers mattresses and bedding among other latex products.
  • GOTS, the Global Organic Textile Standard, does the same job for fabric: certified organic fibre, plus rules on processing, dyes and working conditions. GOTS is clear that a product can only be labelled GOTS-certified if every company involved in making it is certified.

That last rule is the one most shoppers never hear about, and it is why a certificate for the raw material is not the same as a certificate for the finished product.

How to check a GOLS claim, ours or anyone's

  1. Ask for the certificate, not the logo. A real certificate names the certified company, the standard and version, the certification body and an expiry date.
  2. Check the names match. The company on the certificate should be the one that made the latex, and latex foam or bedding should be in the scope.
  3. Ask about the finished product. A certificate for the raw latex is not a certificate for the topper. If the brand making the topper isn't certified itself, it should say so plainly.
  4. Look GOTS certificates up yourself in the public GOTS supplier database. For GOLS, the certifier named on the certificate can confirm it is valid.
  5. Be wary of fuzzy wording: "organic latex blend", "natural latex" with no percentage, or a certificate for a different product type.

Why organic Dunlop latex

Dunlop latex is the denser of the two ways natural latex is made. It springs back as soon as you move, so it holds your hips and shoulders level instead of letting you sink into a warm hollow. Its open-cell structure, with pin-core holes running through it, lets air move as you shift.

Choosing organic latex is about how the rubber is grown and processed, and being able to prove it. It doesn't make latex softer, and it doesn't make it safe for anyone with a latex allergy. If that is you, please choose a latex-free topper.

Frequently asked questions

Is The Organic Topper GOLS certified?

Its latex core is GOLS-certified organic Dunlop latex and its cover is GOTS-certified organic cotton. The finished topper is not certified as a product, because our cover maker and UK finishing partner are not yet certified sites. Our own certification is in progress, and we would rather say that plainly than put a logo on the label we are not entitled to use.

Can I buy an organic latex topper in UK Super-King size?

Yes. Our Super-King is 180 x 200 cm, in Plush or Supportive, 1, 2 or 3 inch deep. The live table shows today's price and stock for each depth.

Do you sell an organic latex topper in UK Double size?

Yes, 135 x 190 cm, in both feels and all three depths. See Double mattress toppers.

Is delivery free?

Yes, to the UK mainland, sent tracked with Parcelforce. Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland and Shetland are £9.99.

Is there a trial?

Yes, a 30-night trial: sleep on it at home for 30 nights. Terms apply, see our returns policy and how trying at home works.

Does it contain any foam or polyester?

No foam. The standard version has a polyester anti-slip base so the topper doesn't slide. A Pure version in organic cotton, with no polyester base, joins the range in October 2026.

Can I wash the cover?

Yes. The cover is zipped and removable, and it is machine-washable. Follow the care label. The latex core itself should never be washed or tumble-dried.

Where is it made?

Born in Yorkshire. The organic latex comes from a GOLS-certified producer in Vietnam, the organic cotton cover is sewn in India, and each topper is hand-finished in the UK.

I have a latex allergy. Is organic latex safe for me?

Please don't buy it. Organic latex is still natural rubber latex. NHS guidance lists latex mattresses and pillows among the products people with a latex allergy should avoid.
